They are like mini courses on a different themes with a delicious menu to match.

Each class begins with a brief nutrition segment on the topic followed by the best part… making the meal and enjoying eating it together. All recipes you get to take home and maybe some leftovers!

Everyone gets excited about sweet foods because it makes them feel good!
Yet, one of the fastest growing illnesses today is Type 2 diabetes. As your body ages, it can become more difficult to break down the over consumption of carbohydrates found in foods that it doesn’t recognize. This is a result of diet, lifestyle and environment. Today, the average Canadian consumes over 31 teaspoons of sugar a day which is found in drinks, baked goods, prepared meals and proceed foods.
In the nutrition portion of this session, you will be introduced to how the body processes sugars and what you can do to manage your blood sugar levels and weight without diving into craving mode. You can improve your blood sugar levels through diet,  potentially reducing Type 2 diabetes symptoms along with other lifestyle improvements. (If you have serious medical issues, this course is a learning opportunity not a replacement for medical advise).
The cooking part includes discovering the natural sweetness in foods and how to extract its maximum flavour using different cooking methods, purer forms of sweeteners (not white) from natural sources.
The menu will include dishes using vegetables, grains and proteins that you can serve for dinner, lunch or  breakfast at home.
