Its finally here

It’s finally here, The Wellness Wagon in all its glory!

The Wellness Wagon is a creative vehicle for nourishment, learning and recovering one’s health.  It offers a:

  • Delivery service of delicious vegetarian food with a nutritional twist.
  • Access to nutritional services that can help you with weight loss (or gain), sleeplessness, allergies, joint pain menopause and aging to name a few.
  • A store that offers some food products to enjoy for yourself or a gift for friends or family, decorative items for the home or office and cooking utensils. More products will be introduced in the next few months and I’ll keep you posted when those special deals will be announced.

We are all beginning  a new year with enthusiasm and hoping to approach life differently in 2015, I’d like to share with you a simple relaxation technique I learned recently that has helped me become better focused and calmer when needed. I recently admitted by brother into CAMH hospital during the holidays for a variety of reasons and the doctor there asked him what he does to reduce stressful moments. He asked him “Do you know the Box Breathing technique?”

Box Breathing Technique

The doctor demonstrated the technique. He drew a box in the air or on the palm of his hand and said “Starting from the upper left to right, draw a line across in the air and breath in. Moving your finger down on the right hand side, breathe out. Moving across at the bottom from right to left, breath in and from the bottom up to the top on the left hand side breath out. Repeat a few times and you will feel yourself relaxing.”

So simple, easy and helpful. I’m not a great sleeper and it helps.
